Curriculum

Blended Education

Salahaldin International School Alexandria offers students British and international educational traditions, as well as the benefits of access to the rich culture and heritage of Egypt.SIS offers a mix of curricular and co-curricular activities, with a wide variety of programs that meet the needs and interest of its students.

Teaching Standards

SIS has collaboratively developed and continues to implement a curriculum based on clear, measurable learning goals. The curriculum is aligned to the IGCSE standards and benchmarks. Curriculum guides contain learning objectives that are aligned to the standards and teachers use them to plan their daily instruction in the classroom. In Foundation, SIS offers a blend of Montessori to maximize students’ benefits.

Instructional Resources

SIS uses a variety of instructional materials, including Harcourt School Publishers (HMH) resources, which are aligned to curriculum standards used throughout all the school departments. Students are given many opportunities to practice their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through various online and offline educational resources, such as IXL, Think Central, and Holt McDougal.

Student Centered Learning

In 2017, SIS became one of the first schools in Egypt to take the Apple License and fully implement the Apple Classroom program for all grades 3 to 12.

SIS provides one of the most powerful college guidance systems to help students choose the right college for their needs.

And More…

To prepare students to responsibly participate in and contribute to contemporary society as informed, aware, active, and caring citizens, they must be proficient in the use of the native language of the country. Thus, Arabic is given priority among the subjects.

In addition to the core academic subjects, SIS also offers a wide range of World Languages, including French and German, from grades 4 to 12.

A Learning Environment That Promotes Active Engagement

A Learning Environment That Promotes Active Engagement

At Salahaldin International School (SIS), we believe that students learn best through natural, meaningful, integrated experiences relevant to their lives. Our classrooms are child-centered and active, and students are expected to take an active role in their learning. We encourage them to experiment and think for themselves, and to use a wide range of materials and resources, working individually and in small groups.

Learning by Doing

One of the key ways that students learn at SIS is by doing. We believe that laboratory experimentation in Science, hands-on manipulation of math learning resources, and application of Language Arts skills in activities such as letter writing, conversational practice, oral presentations, and reading for information and entertainment are all effective ways to promote learning.

Developing Higher-Order Thinking Skills

In addition to learning by doing, we also focus on helping students develop their higher-order thinking skills. We do this through a variety of classroom strategies, such as class discussions and debates, problem-solving activities, research and project work, student presentations, and encouragement in taking leadership roles.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

SIS has a variety of state-of-the-art facilities to support our students’ learning and development. These facilities include technology-ready classrooms, well-equipped science labs, music and art rooms, computer labs, department libraries, an auditorium, and outdoor sports courts.
